Project Description
This henna design was a joy to do! She put in a request for a Ganesh at the last minute, so we were able to work it into the cuff on the second hand 🙂 I love the bold flowers on the fingers – it’s a bit of a bold Khaleeji fusion twist added to an otherwise fairly traditiona Indian feeling design. The contrast of really dark and heavy areas and really light and open areas in and around the mandala at the center of the palm henna is really what makes this pop, though. This is a lesson I learned from Ravie Kattaura of Keyuri’s in Freemont, CA when she taught at Neeta Sharma’s Spring Fling henna conference and then again at the Henna Gathering (my henna conference) the next year.
