Heather’s love of henna has often been called an obsession. While the calming, meditative process of applying intricate mehndi designs to skin is what first pulled her in, it’s the deep personal and cultural connections that continue to shape the tradition and keep it alive that keep her love for the artform growing.

Both deep and broad, Heather has been honing her henna skills and knowledge for well over twenty years. Her designs are a favorite among Indian and South Asian brides of New England, and she has both taught and attended countless workshops specifically the intricate, elaborate art of Indian Bridal Mehendi..

But it’s not just Indian brides who love henna! There’s a longstanding tradition of henna being used for weddings everywhere in the world where the plant grows. And Heather is obsessed with learning all she can about ALL of them. She is always learning more and sharing about henna traditions’ roots and branches, with published expertise in Moroccan, Mauritanian, Persian, Tajikistani, Arabic, and Jewish henna traditions.
